In the field many will know Christ for you cross-cultural ministry, therefore, it is important that bring a real and intimate relationship with the Father throughJesus Christ. This process of growth and maturation of new believers will be given in discipleship in the style of Jesus. We are not talking about a class, but about sharing your life with your disciples, where they will learn from you example of life; what it means to be a true follower of Christ and not be a religious, like the Pharisees in the Master's times, they taught things they did not do; putting heavy burdens on people and moving them away from God; This is not a model of good leadership. As well You will form new local leaders, who, to the extent their commitment and maturity in Christ, they will assume a
service to the Lord.


To train a leader is not to fill the head of a leader with knowledge, much less fill theories only. Training comes from the word capable, to be able to feel that it is capable of achieving something.Therefore, Training is motivating the heart of the leader so that he feels capable of doing the work within his ministry, giving him the necessary tools.

Because in the training you will find people whose dreams harmonize with the direction of the vision of the Program. When you are training others, consider five things.

  1. Identify the direction of the leader's vision.
  2. Connect the leader with your motivation.
  3. Search for the program for solid disciples who will help others.
  4. Form a team of leaders with fundamental values.
  5. Practice the core values of the program to teach by example and with enthusiasm.

The Leaders as columns of the Ministry.
The Leaders as channels of the Ministry.
The person who does not dedicate himself to training others who expand and continue his task limits the Ministry.
The one that is dedicated to educate others extends it beyond his own life.


How to train leaders:
Exodus 18.20 "And teach them the statutes and the laws, and let them know the way in which they must walk and the work they are to do."

  1. Teach them the ordinances and the laws.
    A weekly training
    Objective: take them to know.
  2. Show them the way they should walk.
    A weekly example.
    Objective: Take them to see.
  3. Show them what they have to do.
    A weekly practice
    Objective: to take them to act.

God calls leaders to be servants. If you want to be a leader, you will have to serve.
When we serve people with this attitude, they will want to serve with us.
We do not direct people to serve by imposing things on them or commanding them.
If we sow service, we will reap servants.
We reap what we sow.
Our attitude determines our altitude.
If we have the attitude of servants, people will want to come and grow.
This produces a healthy cell where relationships develop and people grow in Christ. Where there is an attitude of service God works and builds his church.

What if we test how He did?
What you have heard from me, this entrusts to faithful men who are capable of teaching others (2 Timothy 2: 2)

Contrasts of Leadership

In the world we see that a type of leadership based on in the domain or manipulation of people, where the Appearances and personal interests are in first place. Let's see
the contrast between natural leadership and spiritual leadership:

Natural Leadership Spiritual Leadership
Trust in yourself Trust in the Lord. It is meek.
Meet the people. He also knows God.
Make your own decisions Seek to do the will of God.
Create your own methodology Follow God's methods.
He delights in giving orders to others. He delights in obeying God.
It is motivated by interests personal It is motivated by the love of God.

The team of leaders must be made up of people who:
• Be called by God.
• Have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Be growing in your spiritual life and putting into practice spiritual habits (Pray, Study, Congregate, Discipulate and Tithe).
• Have a good testimony.
• Be committed to serving God and the ministry.
• Want to support your ministry.
• Commit to evangelizing your friends.
• Commit to training other potential leaders.

Characteristics of a Good Leader
Nehemiah was an ordinary man who did many things for God because he had character. Based on his life we find eight characteristics of a leader who has developed the character:

When Nehemiah learned of the painful situation and sad in which his compatriots lived, as result of the destroyed walls, he had compassion
of them: "upon hearing this, I sat down to cry; I did I grieve for a few days, I fasted and prayed to the God of heaven "

Prayer and Meditation
Nehemiah was a man of prayer and meditation. He prayed for everything: for every decision he had to make, for every problem he had to face, for the criticism he received.
"And I said, I beseech thee, O Jehovah, the God of heaven, strong, great, and awesome, who keep covenant and mercy to them that love him and keep his commandments; Now listen your ear and open your eyes to hear the prayer of your servant, which I do now before you day and night, for the sons of Israel your servants. " Nehemiah 1: 5-6.

Positive attitude
We all like to follow a leader who has a positive attitude. It seems that Nehemiah was a positive person and in good spirits. The function of a leader is to lift people up, not to let them fall.
Even if you are not a person of good cheer, you can strive to become one. It is something that you can develop. Believe it or not, you can have a good attitude just by smiling. Nehemiah 8:10, reveals the secret.

Nehemiah remained focused on his goal and was able to foresee everything he would need and asked for it in advance because he was focused.

As a leader you will have to face new challenges that will demand creative solutions from you and if you do not consider yourself very creative, there are ways in which you can learn to be creative. When the enemies presented new problems, Nehemiah took a creative approach to solve them.

Clear conscience
Nehemiah was a man of integrity who knew how to handle success. When he was promoted to the highest office in Judea he did not want to be carried away by wealth and chose to be compassionate to the people.
He had a clear conscience and refused to satisfy his personal desires. When someone triumphs there are three temptations that come to life: power, recognition and privileges. Nehemiah refused to Take advantage of them for their fear of God, was a leader of clean conscience.

Excellent reflection @ricci01, God places in the heart of each leader a longing to serve and obviously God trains committed leaders in the edification of the body of Christ, leaders who put their responsibility in the church to their personal interests and understand that the leader is integral to his conviction to raise the fallen and spread the kingdom of God...
